Miami-Dade County to host Adopt-a-Tree giveaway in Hialeah Gardens on May 16
Eligible residents may receive up to two free trees
MIAMI-DADE ( May 13, 2026 )–
Miami-Dade County’s Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) will give away more than 2,000 trees at the kickoff of the 2026 Adopt-a-Tree season on Saturday, May 16 in Hialeah Gardens. Eligible owners of single-family and duplex residences can receive up to two free trees, including native trees and fruit trees, such as mango, soursop, and cherimoya, among others.
The event will have music, cafecitos and other community resources.
Residents are encouraged to pre-register at miamidade.gov/adopt-a-tree to confirm eligibility and expedite the process.
