Miami-Dade County Mayor to host 2nd virtual roundtable on extreme heat, Biscayne Bay and coral reefs on Friday, August 14
MIAMI-DADE ( August 12, 2026 )–
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and the Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) will host the second installment of the Mayor’s Extreme Heat & Biscayne Bay Roundtable Series on Friday, August 14.
The virtual roundtable will provide residents an opportunity to hear from Miami-Dade County experts and diverse stakeholders about how we are monitoring and mitigating the risks of extreme heat in Biscayne Bay and our coral reefs. Panelists will discuss the monitoring of temperatures and nutrients, as well as other key metrics used to plan and prepare for potential impacts to marine life and corals in Biscayne Bay due to this summer’s extreme heat.
