Request Geographic Information Systems Data

Our central storage of geographic data includes many layers; the street network and property (parcel) layers being the primary base layers. Maintenance of the layers is performed by the responsible department. Information concerning geographic data or metadata as it is referred, is available for most layers.

Most publicly available production data can be downloaded for free from the Miami-Dade County Open Data Hub.

Available items can be requested for a fee:

• Aerial Photography (Orthophotography): Includes raw .TIFF images, available as a single image, multiple images, or a full county dataset
• LiDAR Data: Includes the full county dataset of .LAS files, DEMs, and mass points
• MrSID: Single compressed file of the entire county’s aerial photography coverage

Geographic data is stored in ArcSDE, a Spatial Database Engine (ESRI’s relational database management system for geospatial data).
