Apply for a Mom and Pop Small Business Grant

The Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program offers funding opportunities for small owned and operated businesses to purchase equipment, supplies, advertising/marketing, inventory, building liability insurance, security systems and to make minor renovations.

Applications are available online from January to May, depending on your commission district. Deadlines to complete the application are also based by district.

Current Mom and Pop Grant applications.

  • District 1: Applications are available now through Jan. 31. Completed applications will be accepted starting Feb. 3 through Feb. 7.
  • District 2: Applications are available now through Jan. 31. Completed applications will be accepted starting Feb. 3 through 4 p.m. Feb. 7.
  • District 4: Applications are available now. Completed applications will be accepted starting Feb. 3 through noon Feb. 21.
  • Eligibility & Requirements

    • All businesses must be located in the specified county commission district
    • Must be a for-profit business
    • Must not be part of a national chain
    • A physical address is required
    • Home-based businesses can apply

    Additional criteria may be required, based on commission district. Review the guidelines section of the application.

  • District 1

    Applications are available now through Jan. 31. An informational workshop explaining the requirements will take place at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 30 at the North Dade Regional Library, 2455 NW 183rd Street.

    Completed applications will be accepted starting Feb. 3 through 4 p.m. Feb. 7 at the District 1 Office, 2780 NW 167th Street or Neighbors And Neighbors Association (NANA), 5120 NW 24th Ave.

  • District 2

    Applications are available now through Jan. 31. Completed applications will accepted starting Feb. 3 through 4 p.m. Feb. 7 at the District 2 Office, 915 NE 125th St, Suite 2A or Neighbors And Neighbors Association, 5120 NW 24th Ave. 

    A mandatory workshop explaining the requirements will take place at 6 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Father Gerard Jean - Juste Community Center, 690 NE 159th Street.

  • District 3

    Applications for 2020 will be available soon.

  • District 4

    Applications are now available. Completed applications will be accepted starting Feb. 3 through noon Feb. 21.

    Completed applications can be mailed or dropped off at the District 4 Office, 1100 NE 163rd St, #303, in North Miami Beach.

    A mandatory informational workshop explaining the requirements is required. The date, time and location will be provided at a later date.
