Apply for a Mom and Pop Small Business Grant

The Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program offers funding opportunities for small owned and operated businesses to purchase equipment, supplies, advertising/marketing, inventory, building liability insurance, security systems and to make minor renovations.

Applications are available online from January to May, depending on your commission district. Deadlines to complete the application are also based by district.

Current Mom and Pop Grant applications.

  • District 3: Completed applications will be accepted through 4 p.m. Feb. 24.
  • District 4: Applications are available now. Completed applications will be accepted through noon Feb. 21.
  • District 6: Completed applications will be accepted through 4 p.m. Feb. 24.
  • District 7: Completed applications will be accepted starting March 3-9 by 4 p.m.
  • District 9: Applications are available now through Feb. 25. Completed applications will be accepted starting Feb. 26 through 4 p.m. Feb. 28.
  • District 12: Applications are available now through Feb. 24. Completed applications will be accepted starting Feb. 27 through 4 p.m. March 6. 
  • Eligibility & Requirements

    • All businesses must be located in the specified county commission district
    • Must be a for-profit business
    • Must not be part of a national chain
    • A physical address is required
    • Home-based businesses can apply

    Additional criteria may be required, based on commission district. Review the guidelines section of the application.

  • District 1

    Applications are no longer available for 2020.
  • District 2

    Applications are no longer available for 2020.

  • District 3

    Completed applications will be accepted through 4 p.m. Feb. 24 at the District 3 Office, 5400 NW 22nd Ave, 7th Floor or Neighbors And Neighbors Association (NANA), 5120 NW 24th Ave.

  • District 4

    Applications are now available. Completed applications will be accepted through noon Feb. 21.

    Completed applications can be mailed or dropped off at the District 4 Office, 1100 NE 163rd St, #303, in North Miami Beach.

    A mandatory informational workshop explaining the requirements is required. The date, time and location will be provided at a later date.

  • District 5

    Applications for 2020 will be available soon.

  • District 6

    Completed applications will be accepted through 4 p.m. Feb. 24 to the District 6 Office, 1000 SW 57th Ave, Suite 201.

  • District 7

    Applications are available now through March 2. and can be picked up at the District 7 offices; South Miami City Hall, 6130 Sunset Drive; Frankie Shannon Rolle Community Center, 3750 South Dixie Highway; or Neighbors and Neighbors Association (NANA) located at the Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall Social-Economic Institute, 5120 NW 24th Ave.

    There will be a mandatory informational workshop explaining the requirements at 6 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Frankie Shannon Rolle Community Center.

    Completed applications will be accepted starting March 3-9 by 4 p.m. Hand deliver application to District Office or NANA.

  • District 8

    Applications for 2020 will be available soon.

  • District 9

    Applications are available now through Feb. 25. There will be a mandatory informational workshop explaining the requirements at 6 p.m. Feb. 25 at the South Dade Regional Library, 2nd Floor, 10750 SW 211th Street.

    Completed applications will be accepted starting Feb. 26 through 4 p.m. Feb. 28 to the District 9 North Office, 10710 SW 211th Street, Suite 206.

  • District 12

    Applications are available now through Feb. 24. Applications can also be picked up at the District 12 Office, 8345 NW 12th Street.

    There will be a mandatory informational workshop explaining the requirements at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Firefighters Memorial Building, 8000 NW 21st Street.
