• How long will it take to have my bulky pile picked up?

  Your bulky pile will be picked up by 5pm on the day you scheduled your bulky appointment. 

• How do I report my bulky trash has not been picked up yet?

  Once you have scheduled your appointment to have your bulky trash picked up, the pile should be collected by 5pm the day of your scheduled appointment. 

  You may place the bulky trash up to 3 days prior to and no later than 7 a.m. the day of your scheduled appointment.  

  If the scheduled bulky waste pile has not been removed by 5pm the day of your scheduled appointment, you can report as follows: 

  1. Call us by dialing 311 or 305-468-5900. Individuals with a hearing or speech disability can call using Florida Relay at 711. Call Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Closed Sundays and holidays.

• Where can I place a bulky pile for pickup?
  • Your pile will be picked up by 5 pm on your appointment date
  • Place your trash at the curbside no earlier than 3 days prior to and no later than 7am on the day of your appointment date
  • Trash should be placed within 10 feet of the street and at least five feet from mailboxes, parked cars, trees, utility poles, sprinkler heads and other obstructions that might be damaged by the collection equipment
  • A 15-foot clearance is required from the ground to the lowest hanging tree branch or power line
  • Tree limbs in the pickup pile should be no more than five feet long
  • Only up to three cubic yards of wooden fence is allowed
• How many bulky waste pickups do I get each year?

  Each home property receives two bulky waste pickups per calendar year, January 1 through December 31.

  A duplex—with two units—receives four bulky waste pickups per the calendar year.

  However, if a bulky waste pile exceeds 25 cubic yards, single-family residents can choose to combine the two available bulky waste pickups into one pickup of up to 50 cubic yards, and a duplex can combine up to 100 cubic yards.

• What can I place on a bulky pile for pickup?

  Before placing trash at the curbside for collection, you will need to request a bulky waste pickup. Each household is entitled to two bulky waste pickups per year of up to 25 cubic yards each. If the bulky waste pile exceeds 25 cubic yards and you choose to combine your two pickups, you will exhaust your next available pickup. Items that can be placed in bulky trash include:

  • Furniture - sofas, chairs, tables, cabinets and carpets (must be rolled).
  • White goods or appliances - stoves, refrigerators, freezers (refrigerator and freezer doors must be removed as it is a hazard), water heaters, washing machines, dryers. (No Fine Is Issued)
  • Mattresses - must be fully encased in a plastic mattress bag or sleeve and sealed with weather-resistant tape, such as packing tape or duct tape. The box spring does not have to be encased. Violations may result in a $100 fine.
  • Fences - chain link and wooden fences must be rolled and no higher than 5 feet. Only up to 3 cubic yards of wooden fence is allowed.
  • Tree cuttings - must be no more than 5 feet in length.
  • Construction and demolition materials - kitchen cabinets, bathtubs, sinks and vanities steel, concrete, glass, brick, asphalt, roofing material, lumber, drywall and tile limited to no more than 3 cubic yard (not mixed with other items) (a pile no larger than 6 green 96 gallon waste carts).
  • Electronic equipment - Electronics should not be placed in a trash pile. It is illegal to take electronics to the landfills. Customers would need to take their electronics to any of the TRCs that accept used electronics or one of the two Home Chemical Collection Centers. (A small air purifier used for a room, without UV lights may be placed on a Bulky Pile. Any air purifier with UV lights or a large air purifier would have to go back to the vendor).
  • Disabled power tools – i.e. lawnmowers (they must be completely free of fluids such as motor oil or gasoline).
