Apply for a Small Business Grant

The Small Business Grant Program offers funding opportunities for small owned and operated businesses to purchase equipment, supplies, advertising/marketing, inventory, building liability insurance, security systems and to make minor renovations.

All businesses must be located in the specified county commission district
Must be a for-profit business
Must not be part of a national chain
A physical address is required
Supporting documentation must be provided (W-9, Municipal Local Business Tax Certificate, any applicable licenses, etc.)
Home-based businesses can apply

Additional criteria may be required, based on commission district. Review the guidelines section of the application.

Commission Districts accepting applications:

District 2: Completed applications will be accepted from Monday, June 8, through Tuesday, June 16.
District 5: Completed apprlications will be accepted until 4 p.m., Friday, July 10.
District 6: The application pickup period is from June 15 to June 29. Completed applications must be submitted in person at the District 6 Office between July 6 to July 10 by 4 p.m.

Completed applications will be accepted from Monday, June 8, through Tuesday, June 16, 2026. All applications must be hand-delivered to the District Office in a sealed envelope.

Small Business owners in Miami-Dade County’s District 5 can now apply to receive up to $1,500 in grant funding from Commissioner Vicki L. Lopez’s Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program. Applications can be downloaded online starting on Tuesday, June 23, through Friday, July 10 ,2026.

Completed applications will be accepted until Friday, July 10, 2026, by 4 p.m. and be dropped off at the District 5 Office, located at 2100 Coral Way, Suite 400, Miami, FL 33145. Only one application will be accepted per owner. Late submissions will be automatically disqualified.

Small businesses in District 6 can now apply to receive up to $5,000 in grants from the 2026 District 6 Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program. Applications can be picked up at the District 6 Office, located at 1000 SW 57th Avenue, Suite 201, Miami, FL 33144. The application pickup period is from June 15 to June 29. Completed applications must be submitted in person at the District 6 Office between July 6 to July 10 by 4 p.m.
