How do I foster a pet?

To foster a dog or cat from the Pet Adoption and Protection Center, you must be a Florida resident and complete the online Foster Family Application.

• Animal Services’ Foster Coordinator will notify you of approval and ask that you complete a foster parent orientation
• Once you’ve completed orientation the Foster Coordinator will contact you with a date and time to come to the shelter to pick-up a foster animal and provide you with instructions, food, and supplies

Once the online application is completed, ASD staff will review then contact you to schedule orientation.
