How do I obtain information about the Women's Detention Center?

Effective November 22, 2012, the Women’s Detention Center will no longer be housing female inmates. All Female inmates will be housed at theTurner Guilford Knight Correctional Center or at the Pre-Trial Detention Center.

• Inmate visitation schedule is only permitted according to the specific facility where inmate is housed.

• All mail correspondence is to be addressed to the facility where the inmate is housed

Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center has 1300 beds for male and female inmates of various levels of custody. Officers work inside housing units and directly supervise inmates 24 hours a day.

Visitation of Inmate (Male or Female)

Any Children 17 years and under are required to provide a valid Birth Certificate and School ID (If youth is currently enrolled and attend a MDCPS or any other MDC Private or Parochial School)
