Helping a caller no matter the trouble

Camila Galvez
Camila Galvez is new to the County and already having an impact on the community with her great attitude and careful customer care. As executive secretary in the Human Resources department, Camila answered a call from a resident trying to access our services. Camila helped him complete his job application successfully.

On Monday morning, the resident found that the online job application was not working. When he tried to apply for a job and got to the terms and conditions page, the resident would check the box and an error would keep popping up.

The first call he made was to Camila. ''I cannot say enough great and wonderful adjectives to tell you what a great employee she is to your HR team. From day one, to this morning, she kept in contact with me on the progress of the situation, provided me with phone numbers and contacts, was extremely professional and basically bent over backwards and went above and beyond to rectify the situation.''

He said she always kept her composure and was never aggravated with his phone calls. ''I would just like to say she is the epitome of customer service and should be recognized for her wonderful service. In fact, she should train all new onboarding personnel on how to treat people on the phone and customer service. Thank you again Camila!''

Surprised by the accolades, Camila said she was just doing her job. She is passionate about taking care of every caller and making certain they get the information and assistance they require.

''Helping people gives me a sense of purpose. I want to know everything I can to provide resources and support everyone who contacts us. That’s how I thrive,'' Camila said.

''Everyone wants to work for the County and we need dedicated employees to service the public on so many fronts. So, of course, connecting people who want to be part of our organization is important and very rewarding.''

With a Bachelors in Communication from FIU, Camila is able to patiently listen and respond to everyone.

''Completing the ''No Wrong Door'' training as part of my onboarding really gave me a tool kit with many resources to connect citizens. The Mayor’s initiative actually opens doors and enables us to deliver great customer service.''

HR director, Arleene Cuellar, proudly added, ''I am thankful to Camila for providing this caller with the assistance and follow-through that he needed and deserved. She is a perfect example of how our employees contribute and thrive at Miami-Dade County.''

Camila looks forward to growing her career in HR with the County. When not hard at work, she enjoys the outdoors and being with nature in our many state parks.
