Setting the standard for service

The genuine satisfaction of being able to assist a resident of Miami-Dade County is what motivates Eddy Espinosa to thrive in his role as a customer service representative 2 at the Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department (WASD).
Espinosa began his career with WASD four years ago as a meter reader in North Central. He shared that the firsthand experience of interacting with residents and business owners in the field helped him gain a deeper understanding of the department and inspired him to pursue more opportunities. His time as a meter reader proved invaluable and in Oct. 2023, Espinosa was promoted to his current role.
Being part of the Water and Sewer Department is unlike any other job Espinosa has experienced.
“The leadership team within the division all have an open-door policy," he said. "WASD also offers various training opportunities across multiple disciplines, giving you the chance to continue learning in your role or explore other roles that interest you. The department is committed to providing opportunities for growth and development.”
This commitment to development, along with Espinosa's dedication to delivering a high standard of service, was recently highlighted when a local business owner shared his experience.
“I want to personally congratulate you and your team for such incredible service," the owner said. "More specifically, a young man named Eddy who worked with me on getting my water and sewer account set up very quickly. I have never come across someone so helpful and cordial.”
While Espinosa appreciated the commendation, he mentioned that this is the standard of service he and his team provide to all the residents and business owners they interact with.
In his free time, Espinosa enjoys spending time with his wife and four-year-old daughter, fishing on the lake in his backyard and taking trips to Disney World. He and his wife are also expecting another daughter in June.
