Proposed Budget Hearing Accommodations

The second and final hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 21, at 5:01 p.m. in the Stephen P. Clark Center Commission Chambers. 


Special provisions are being made as follows:

Security
Mandatory screening is located at the entrance of the SPCC lobby. All public participants and County employees will be screened, and building entrances and exits will be restricted. There will be a security officer at each elevator bank to restrict non-County employees from going to the upper floors. Employees are reminded to always display their County ID badge in order to access the upper floors, which will be closed to the public. The stairwells will be locked at 9 p.m.

Overflow Space
Conference rooms 18-3 and 18-4 located on the 18th floor of the SPCC will be set up as an overflow area for County staff only. Monitors will be televising the budget hearing and the rooms will have wireless connection to the County network. A County ID badge is always required in order to access the upper floors.

Food Court
Bottega Grill Café located on the ground floor of the SPCC will remain open until 8 p.m.

Parking
The following parking garages will be available during the budget hearings. Complimentary parking will be available after 3 p.m. All facilities will remain open one hour after the conclusion of the budget hearing.

  • Miami-Dade Cultural Center Parking Garage located at 50 NW 2nd Avenue
  • Hickman Garage located at 270 NW 2nd Street
  • West Lot Garage located at 220 NW 3rd Street

Transit
Miami-Dade Transit will extend Metrorail and Metromover service one hour after the end of the budget hearing.

Metrorail parking facilities also will remain open at least one hour after the last trains depart from the Government Center Station. It is recommended that attendees proceed to the Government Center Station platform immediately following the hearing.

Transit riders can pay fares directly at Metrorail fare gates and Metrobus fare boxes using their contactless-enabled bank cards, digital wallet, GO Miami-Dade Transit App, or EASY Card with store value or fare product on it.
