Help the County revise its roadway impact fee structure

More workshops to be announced soon
Miami-Dade County’s Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER) hosted its first Mobility Fee Workshop where participants had the opportunity to provide their thoughts on the County’s impact fee structure. The County collects impacts fees from developers to help meet the additional demands for infrastructure and services that their development will generate. While the rates have changed over the years, the fee’s basic structure remains the same.
The RER Planning Division initiated the Mobility Fee Study, which is intended to update the fee to better reflect changes in the County’s adopted plans, such as the Comprehensive Development Master Plan (CDMP) and the Strategic Miami Area Regional Transit (SMART) Plan, that envision a more compact, multimodal development pattern.
As part of the study, participants had the opportunity to provide their thoughts on the major options under consideration, such as the types of improvements the new fee should fund and where the fee should be spent. More workshops will follow in the coming months to examine potential scenarios and arrive at a new mobility fee structure. Stay tuned for future workshop dates. A sign-up link will be added to this page.
