Join the Code Compliance team, get hired on the spot

The Code Compliance Division of the Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources is hiring for various positions that focus on keeping Miami-Dade County’s residents and communities safe and beautiful. The Code Compliance Division is charged with carrying out County regulations related to the building code and to housing standards and activities that are prohibited in residential areas. They also enforce building activity that includes unsafe structures, work without existing or active permits and more.
On Saturday, March 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Code Compliance Division will host a job fair where candidates will have the opportunity to share their work experience, interview and potentially be offered a County position on the spot!

Positions available & minimum qualifications:
- Neighborhood Compliance Officer 1
Bachelor's degree. One year of experience in the processing, investigation, or enforcement of zoning regulations, building codes, health sanitation codes, environmental codes, nuisance codes, solid waste disposal codes or other municipal code enforcement regulations are required. Additional experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Must possess a Driver's license. Applicants will be subject to a thorough background investigation. - Building Compliance Officer 1
Bachelor's degree. One year of experience in code enforcement, investigations, or administration at the local, state, or federal level is required. Additional experience in code enforcement, investigations, or administration at the local, state, or federal level may substitute for the required college education on a year-for-year basis. - Building Inspector
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: Five years of construction experience in a supervisory capacity AND either (a) General Contractor's license and a current Certificate of Competency issued by the State of Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board; (b) General Contractor's license and a current Certificate of Competency issued by the Miami-Dade County Construction Trades Qualifying Board; (c) General Contractor's license issued subsequent to a proctored examination, graded by an independent testing agency approved by the Board of Rules and Appeals; or two years of construction experience, an Associate's degree in Building Code Enforcement approved by the Board of Rules and Appeals, and a current Certificate of Competency as a General Contractor in the State of Florida; or a current State of Florida Registered Architect license or a current State of Florida Professional Engineer license and building construction experience. Must possess a valid Driver's license.
Exception: Residential Contractor and/or Building Contractor license with a current Certificate of Competency issued by the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board or the Miami-Dade County Construction Trades Qualifying Board may substitute for the aforementioned requirements.
