5th Annual Black History Month Showcase African Americans & Labor

Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department will be hosting the 5th Annual Black History Month Showcase African Americans & Labor on Saturday, Feb. 15, at JL and Enid W. Demps Park, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

This free event is open to the public and will celebrate the immense distribution of African Americans to the labor movement and their enduring influence in shaping workforce culture across the nation.

Participants will hear an address by former Miami-Dade Police Department Director Stephanie Daniels, and enjoy performances by local schools, vibrant art exhibitions, cultural dance showcases, spoken word presentations, and live music.

The event will also feature a kids fun zone and services by local vendors, food trucks and a wide variety of activities.

Come and join Miami-Dade County Parks in a celebration of culture, history, community and the ongoing legacy of African Americans in the labor movement and beyond.
