Newsletters for County Employees

Submission Policy

The Communications and Customer Experience Department reserves the right to use, modify and withhold publication of any submission to the newsletter.

Please note that all copy submitted is subject to editing for length, clarity and to enhance the submission information. Due to time limitations, edits are not shared with submitters before publication.

Be aware that story submission does not guarantee publication. While we appreciate every submission received and do our best to accommodate, we may postpone or cut the publication of submissions at our discretion as is necessary to maintain the length and quality of our newsletters.

What's New

Since it was initiated in 2001, What's New has become a popular and effective communication tool reaching more than 15,000 County employees with Metronet access. What’s New is a Communications and Customer Experience Department e-newsletter.

Submissions should include newsworthy information that would be of interest and benefit to County employees like special events, updates on County services and educational programs.
- Have your department's Public Information Officer approve the copy and submit the story idea using Quickbase. The form must be used to be considered for publication
  - When filling out the form, use the dropdown list under Function and select "Newsletters." Then under Type, select "What's New"
- All submissions must include a link to accompany the story. Any PDFs included with submissions must be posted to the department website or .org or .gov site prior to submission
- Use 60 words or less. Additional information can be included in the provided link
- Images and graphics are not required. If provided, they should be in a separate, high-resolution JPG file
- Repeat submissions should be entered individually in Quickbase

Pay Day & The Bargain Hunter

The Miami-Dade County Employee Discount Program provides County employees with exclusive discounts and promotions. To deliver these hand-picked offers to employees, these deals are packaged and distributed through Pay Day Message and Bargain Hunter newsletters.

Pay Day Message and Bargain Hunter are Department of Human Resources newsletters, created in collaboration with the Communications and Customer Experience Department.

- Businesses featured in Pay Day Message and Bargain Hunter must be participants in the County’s Employee Discount Program. To become a participating business, complete the Employee Discount Program questionnaire, and submit a discount for us to share with our employees
- All submissions must provide a link to accompany the story. Any PDFs included with submissions must be posted to the department website or .org or .gov site prior to submission
- Use 60 words or less. Additional information can be included in the provided link
