Photography

Policy

County departments and the offices of elected officials may request professional photographic services for the purpose of informing and educating the public.

Rules

  •  The Communications and Customer Experience Department will provide photography services for official County programs, events, initiatives and services.
    • Examples of this include portraits of department directors, elected officials and judges; ceremonies such as ribbon cuttings, dedications, groundbreakings, service awards, proclamations and elected official installations; creative images for annual reports, budget books, other types of publications, advertising and websites.
  • Photography services are not to be used for retirement parties, luncheons; political events or campaigning; commercial products.
  • Photos containing persons that are not County employees must have a release form signed and dated. Any minor represented on camera on the County's behalf must have a release signed by a legal guardian. Obtaining properly completed release forms is the responsibility of the task requestor.
  • Miami-Dade County Departments and elected officials can request Photography services. 
  • Photography services are based on a rate card set by the Office of Management and Budget. 

Procedure

Requests for photography services must be made at least 72 hours in advance.
  • Submit your service request using the online form.
  • To request images from an event or images from the County’s photography library, choose “photo retrieval” for the type of service required and specify which images are being requested.
The Communications and Customer Experience Department will determine if the request can be fulfilled based on:
  • Availability of resources
  • Timeliness of topic
  • Relevance of topic to county wide informational outreach campaigns and the delivery of County Services
  • Percentage of community impacted by information
  • Attendance of elected officials
