At the event, the mayor will release the first progress report on the County&rsquo;s <a href="https://www.miamidade.gov/global/economy/resilience/climate-strategy/home.page">Climate Action Strategy</a>, which was introduced on Earth Day last year and set ambitious goals for Miami-Dade to reach 50% greenhouse gas emissions reductions by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2050.&nbsp;</p> <p><br />Following the 5k walk/run, Mayor Levine Cava will share progress made in the last year to advance the county&rsquo;s climate goals and projects in the pipeline.&nbsp;</p> <p><br />The 5k walk/run will bring awareness to the climate &amp; environmental issues affecting South Florida and motivate residents to get involved in efforts to make our state become more resilient against climate change.           Mayor Levine Cava will present the report at The CLEO Institute’s inaugural “Walk the Talk” 5K Earth Day event

          MIAMI-DADE ( April 20, 2023 )–

          In commemoration of Earth Day, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava will join The CLEO Institute’s inaugural “Walk the Talk” 5K taking place at MAST Academy. At the event, the mayor will release the first progress report on the County’s Climate Action Strategy, which was introduced on Earth Day last year and set ambitious goals for Miami-Dade to reach 50% greenhouse gas emissions reductions by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2050. 


          Following the 5k walk/run, Mayor Levine Cava will share progress made in the last year to advance the county’s climate goals and projects in the pipeline.
