Miami-Dade Parks Kicks Off Park and Recreation Month with Spectacular Fourth of July Celebration at Tropical Park
Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces invites residents and visitors to Tropical Park (7900 SW 40th St, Miami, FL 33155) on July 4, 2025, 5-9 p.m., for an unforgettable Independence Day celebration. The event marks the kickoff of National Park and Recreation Month with an evening filled with music, entertainment, and community spirit.
To welcome attendees to this vibrant, family-friendly celebration—now in its fifth year—Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava will be joined by Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners Chairman Anthony Rodriguez and Miami-Dade County Parks Director Christina White.
“This Fourth of July, we come together to celebrate the spirit of independence in one of our most cherished public spaces, Tropical Park,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “It’s a time to reflect on our freedoms, enjoy time with loved ones, and celebrate all that unites us as a community. I invite everyone to join us for an evening of fun, music, and fireworks in honor of our nation's birthday.”
Presented in partnership with Univision, the celebration will feature a high-energy lineup of live musical performances, a fun zone for kids, vibrant live music throughout the park, and a variety of food trucks. The evening will wrap up with a dazzling fireworks finale that lights up the night sky in red, white, and blue.
“Tropical Park is a beloved landmark in District 10 where families gather, athletes train, and nature thrives,” said Miami-Dade Chairman Anthony Rodriguez. “This annual event is the summer’s crown jewel, and I invite all our residents to come out dressed in their patriotic best and enjoy the festivities.”
This year’s Park and Recreation Month theme, “Build Together, Play Together,” celebrates the power of parks to unite communities and create lasting memories. It also honors the essential contributions of parks staff who ensure safe, welcoming spaces for residents of all ages.
“This celebration is the perfect kickoff to Parks and Recreation Month, and a great reminder of the role parks play in the lives of so many residents,” said Christina White, Director of Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces. “From world-class entertainment to connecting with friends and neighbors, this event has something for everyone. We are proud to host it in one of our most iconic parks.”
Miami-Dade County Parks’ 2025 Independence Day Celebration is made possible thanks to the support of our returning media partner Univision, and sponsors Moty’s Grill and Soccer5.
