Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis Recognized as Outstanding Woman in Government and Law
Miami-Dade County Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis has been recognized as “Outstanding Woman in Government and Law – Elected Official” at this year’s In The Company of Women Awards, an honor celebrating women whose leadership and service have made a lasting impact in our community.
The award was presented during Women’s History Month, adding special meaning to the recognition of her work in public service.
“I am truly grateful for this honor,” said Commissioner Milian Orbis. “Every day, I go to work focused on delivering results for the families and taxpayers of Miami-Dade County. This recognition reflects the trust our community has placed in me and the responsibility I carry to serve them well.”
Commissioner Milian Orbis shared that the moment was especially meaningful for her family.
“As a wife and a mother, my family is my greatest source of strength,” she said. “They make sacrifices right alongside me. This award belongs to them as much as it belongs to me. I want my children to grow up seeing that leadership is about service, accountability, and standing firm in your values.”
Throughout her time in office, Commissioner Milian Orbis has prioritized public safety, affordability, infrastructure improvements, and strong oversight of taxpayer dollars. Her approach to leadership centers on practical solutions and measurable outcomes that improve the daily lives of residents across District 6.
During Women’s History Month, she also reflected on the broader significance of women serving in government and law. “Women across our community are leading in business, education, law, and public service,” Commissioner Milian Orbis said. “We honor the women who paved the way and we commit to ensuring that future generations have even greater opportunities. There is no substitute for hard work, faith, and perseverance.”
The In The Company of Women Awards recognize outstanding women whose professional excellence and dedication strengthen South Florida. Commissioner Milian Orbis joins a distinguished group of honorees committed to serving their communities with integrity and purpose.
