Vote-by-Mail Ballots for November 3 General Election to be Mailed from Elections Headquarters September 24

The Miami-Dade County Office of the Supervisor of Elections will begin mailing Vote-by-Mail ballots (VBM) for the November 3 General Election on Thursday, September 24, to voters who have requested them.

The VBM ballots will be moved from the Elections Headquarters Warehouse onto a United States Postal Service (USPS) truck at 10:30 a.m., and members of the working media are invited to see the process unfold. Following the loading of more than 200,000 ballots, Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia will hold a media availability and answer questions regarding Vote-by-Mail and the upcoming General Election.

“Building the public’s trust through secure, fair, accurate and accessible elections is my pledge,” said Supervisor Garcia. “Voting by mail is one of three convenient and safe ways Miami-Dade County voters can make their voices heard, along with Early Voting and voting on Election Day. With the General Election approaching, I encourage every eligible voter to make a plan, know the important deadlines and participate in our democracy.”

Voters are encouraged to verify that they have an active Vote-by-Mail request on file before the deadline. Under Florida law, Vote-by-Mail requests must be renewed for future election cycles.

The U.S. Postal Service will not forward a Vote-by-Mail ballot to a different address. If a voter wants a Vote-by-Mail ballot sent to an address different from the one on file with the Office of the Supervisor of Elections, the voter must complete a Statewide Vote-by-Mail Ballot Request Form, which must include the voter’s signature unless an applicable exception under Florida law applies.

Important General Election Dates and Deadlines

• Voter Registration Deadline: Monday, October 5, 2026
• Early Voting: Monday, October 19 through Sunday, November 1, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily
• Vote-by-Mail Request Deadline: Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 5 p.m.
• Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Vote-by-Mail Ballot Return Deadline: Tuesday, November 3, 2026, by 7 p.m.

These dates are consistent with the Office’s published General Election information.

Voters who choose to vote by mail are strongly encouraged to request and return their ballots as early as possible. Completed Vote-by-Mail ballots returned through the U.S. Postal Service must be received, not merely postmarked, by the Office of the Supervisor of Elections no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day. Postage is prepaid for this countywide election, so voters do not need to place a stamp on the return envelope.

During Early Voting, voters may also return their completed Vote-by-Mail ballots at a Secure Ballot Intake Station located at any Early Voting site during voting hours. On Election Day, Vote-by-Mail ballots may be returned by 7 p.m. to Elections Headquarters in Doral or the Elections Branch Office at the Stephen P. Clark Government Center. Vote-by-Mail ballots cannot be dropped off at Election Day polling places.

Voters should not wait until the last minute. Returning a ballot early also provides additional time for the Office of the Supervisor of Elections to contact a voter if there is an issue with the signature on the ballot envelope, consistent with the guidance included in the original Primary Election release.
