Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis Announces Return of Project Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Miami-Dade County Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis is proud to announce the return of Project Pink, an initiative in partnership with Jackson Health System aimed at encouraging women to prioritize their breast health through routine mammogram screenings and early detection.
Launching in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Project Pink will run from October 1 through December 31, 2026, providing women ages 40 and older with an opportunity to access routine screening mammograms through Jackson Health System.
"Project Pink is back because it worked. Women across our community made the call, kept the appointment, and got screened. Breast cancer caught early is far more treatable, and that means more mothers, daughters, sisters, and grandmothers here for the moments that matter. If you're 40 or older, this is your reminder: make the time" said Commissioner Milian Orbis.
Project Pink reflects a shared commitment between Commissioner Milian Orbis’ office and Jackson Health System to promote women’s health, prevention, and early detection while helping connect residents throughout Miami-Dade County with accessible breast health resources.
Who Can Participate:
Project Pink is available to women ages 40 and older seeking a screening mammogram as part of their routine preventive care. The initiative is designed to encourage eligible women to stay proactive about their breast health and make regular screenings a priority.
How to Participate:
Women interested in Project Pink can complete the program’s google form and contact Commissioner Milian Orbis’ office at 305-267-6377. Participants should mention Project Pink when calling so the office can assist them with the registration and appointment process.
"Women in our community take care of everyone else first. We schedule the kids' checkups, drive our parents to their doctors, and push our own appointments to next month. Project Pink is about not waiting. Fill out the form or call my office, and we'll help you get on the calendar."
Project Pink will be available from October 1 through December 31, 2026.
For additional information or assistance registering for Project Pink, contact the Office of Miami-Dade County Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis at 305-267-6377.
