Deadline to request a Vote-By-Mail Ballot for the November 3rd General Election is October 22, 2026
The Miami-Dade County Office of the Supervisor of Elections reminds voters that Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 5 p.m. is the deadline to request a Vote-by-Mail ballot for the November 3 General Election. Voters who plan to cast their ballot by mail are strongly encouraged to submit their request as soon as possible rather than waiting until the deadline.
Vote-by-Mail is one of three convenient and secure ways to vote in Miami-Dade County, along with Early Voting and voting in person on Election Day. Voters are encouraged to choose the voting method that works best for them and make their plan well in advance of Election Day.
“Voting by mail provides voters with the convenience of reviewing and completing their ballot at home, but we encourage anyone who chooses this option to request their ballot sooner rather than later,” said Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia. “Giving yourself additional time to receive, complete and return your ballot is one of the best ways to be election ready. Whether you choose to vote by mail, vote early or on Election Day, our goal is to make sure every eligible voter has the opportunity to make their voice heard.”
Once completed, Vote-by-Mail ballots may be returned by mail through the United States Postal Service. For this countywide election, return postage is prepaid, and voters do not need to place a stamp on the return envelope. All Vote-by-Mail ballots must be received by the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3. Voters returning their ballot by mail are encouraged to send it back as early as possible to allow sufficient time for delivery, to sign the outer envelope, and to follow the instructions.
Voters may also return their completed Vote-by-Mail ballot during Early Voting at a Secure Ballot Intake Station located at any Early Voting site during its hours of operation.
Vote-by-Mail ballots cannot be dropped off at Election Day polling locations. Voters who still have their Vote-by-Mail ballot on Election Day must ensure that it is returned to the Supervisor of Elections by 7 p.m. for it to be received on time.
Voters can request a Vote-by-Mail ballot, track the status of their ballot and access additional voter information by visiting www.votemiamidade.gov. The Office encourages voters to track their ballot after returning it to confirm that it has been received.
