Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections Office and Animal Services join forces for inaugural “Pets & Votes” November 14 at Elections Headquarters in Doral

The Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections and close Doral neighbor Miami-Dade Animal Services will join forces for the very first time for Pets & Votes on Saturday, November 14, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Elections Headquarters, 2700 NW 87 Avenue. This groundbreaking collaboration will bring pet adoption and animal-wellness information together with voter services, including voter registration and vote-by-mail information, all in one convenient location. The Miami-Dade Tax Collector’s Office will also be on hand to provide additional services.

“I am so excited about this new partnership with Director Jose and our friends at Animal Services,” said Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia. “I encourage everyone to stop by, register to vote, learn about upcoming elections, and consider adopting a furry friend and giving a pet a forever home. These are all quality-of-life issues. Pet adoption and spaying and neutering help keep our community safe and healthy, while voting gives each of us a voice—especially those who advocate for the welfare and better treatment of animals.”

We hope to make Pets & Votes a recurring event at least twice a year.”

Miami-Dade Elections and Animal Services team members will be on hand with information and educational giveaways on the benefits of pet adoption, low-cost pet wellness services and voting, along with the Miami-Dade Tax Collector’s Office.
