Patriot Passport

Veterans using the Patriot Passport EASY Card can ride Metrorail and Metrobus free of charge.

  • Eligibility

    Who is Eligible?

    1. Service-connected disabled veterans who are permanent residents of Miami-Dade
    2. Veterans, based on their military discharge, who are permanent residents of Miami-Dade and whose annual income is $30,174.00 or less

    Type of Military Discharge:

    • Honorable Discharge - Yes
    • General Discharge (under honorable conditions) - Yes
    • Other than Honorable Discharge - Yes
    • Inability to Adjust - Yes
    • Voluntary Discharge - Yes
    • Dishonorable/Bad Conduct Discharge - No
  • How to apply

    Complete the Patriot Passport EASY Card application then apply in person at the Miami-Dade Transit Golden Passport Office located on the first floor of the Government Center or at any 311 Service Centers or City of Miami NET offices.

    When you apply, your photo will be taken. Your image will appear on your new card.

    Disabled veterans need to bring:

    • Service-connected disability letter showing percentage of disability and type of military discharge
    • A current valid Florida ID or driver’s license with a Miami-Dade County physical address
    • Social Security card

    Other veterans need to bring:

    • Proof of income:
      1. Consecutive pay stubs, weekly (four pay stubs), bi-weekly (two pay stubs) if paid monthly (one pay stub) or
      2. Current income tax return or IRS Tax Return Transcript or
      3. Income Tax W2 wages statement
    • A current valid Florida ID or driver’s license with a Miami-Dade County physical address
    • Social Security card
    • DD214 form as proof of an honorable discharge

    The Patriot Passport expires annually and has to be renewed. The expiration date is printed on the card.

    What to provide:

    Disabled veterans need to bring

    1. Service-connected disability letter showing percentage of disability and type of military discharge
    2. A current valid Florida ID or driver’s license with a Miami-Dade County physical address

    Other veterans need to bring:

    • Proof of income:
      1. Consecutive pay stubs, weekly (four pay stubs), bi-weekly (two pay stubs) if paid monthly (one pay stub) or
      2. Current income tax return or IRS Tax Return Transcript or
      3. Income Tax W2 wages statement
    • A current valid Florida ID or driver’s license with a Miami-Dade County physical address
    • Your last issued Patriot Passport EASY Card
  • Lost, stolen or damaged EASY Card

    Replace your lost, stolen or damaged EASY Card at any Transit Service Center by completing the EASY Card replacement form.

    Fees:

    • Free for the first replacement
    • $10 for the second replacement
    • $25 for each replacement thereafter

    A one-time fee waiver is available during the lifespan of your EASY Card when an original police report is presented.
