Urban Tree Canopy Assessment

Conducted by the University of Florida and Florida International University, the assessment focuses on the environmental and socioeconomic impacts from the urban tree canopy (UTC) within the Urban Development Boundary of Miami-Dade County, as defined by the Miami-Dade County Transportation Planning Organization. The area, excluding intracoastal water areas, encompasses approximately 1147 km2 (443 mi2).

Completed in Summer of 2021, the Urban Tree Canopy Assessment update was sponsored through a partnership with Neat Streets Miami and American Forests.
