Home Weatherization Assistance

Home weatherization assistance can help make your home more energy efficient. On average, you can reduce your energy bill by $358 per year at current prices.

To be eligible, the applicant’s total household income must not exceed the established weatherization poverty guidelines, which is 200 percent of the U.S. Poverty Guidelines. Senior citizens and families with children under the age of 12 will be given priority.

Conservation measures include:

  • Replacement or installation of key components.
  • Installation of energy recovery ventilitation systems including bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans.
  • Installation of whole mechanical exhaust systems to provide better indoor air quality.

The program serves on average of 70 homes each year depending on the size of the project and services needed.

Home weatherization is made possible through a partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy and Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.
