Construction Projects with Existing Water or Sewer Connection

To set the meter, submit the following documents in person:

Property owner's information

• Name
• Mailing address
• Social Security number or Federal Tax Identification number
• Daytime phone number

Property information

• Project address
• A legal description of the property
• The folio number(s) of the property. This can be obtained by searching the County's property records at on the Property Appraiser's website
• Type and/or number of existing units on the property
• If there is a change to the existing use of the property, a Sewer Capacity Certification Letter application or a septic tank approval letter from the Miami-Dade Department of Health

Fees are calculated at the time of the request.

In order to receive water service from the Water and Sewer Department, once a water service line is in place, you must have a water meter set at your property.

All water and/or sewer facilities installed as per the service agreement must be fully conveyed in accordance with the terms and conditions of the service agreement before any water meters can be set.

• Service Agreement ID number
• A legal description of the property
• The folio number(s) of the property. This can be obtained by searching the County's property records at on the Property Appraiser's website
• If a verification form is required, a Sewer Capacity Certification Letter application or a septic tank approval letter from the Miami-Dade Department of Health

If this project is anything other than a single-family home, you must also submit a copy of the approved building construction plans and building permit.
