Occupant with Autism Program

The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office (MDSO) is committed to a high level of protection and service for all of our residents. The purpose of the Occupant with Autism Program is to alert emergency responders that there is a person with autism in the home or vehicle.

MDSO is providing decals free of charge to anyone in the community, who would like to place them near the front door of their home and the rear window of their vehicle, while enabling police officers to utilize their autism training to assist individuals, who may not respond or comply with verbal commands.

Complete the online form to register. Once you have completed the online registration process, visit your local sheriff's district station with your e-mail confirmation to receive your decals. If you do not wish to affix the decal to your home or vehicle, simply fill out the form and request zero decals. MDSO will flag the address of the home registered in their dispatch system, so arriving officers are aware that a person with autism lives in the home.

If you have any questions, please call the MDSO Community Affairs Bureau at 305-471-1716 or email them at [email protected].
