The Community Education Unit (CEU) services over 100 Miami-Dade County schools and offers a variety of safety presentations, reaching over 100,000 citizens each year. Their mission emphasizes traffic and safety knowledge for both children and adults to save lives and prevent injuries.

The Miami-Dade Police Department's therapy dog program, initiated in 2019, has expanded to include five dogs and their handlers, offering comfort and support to the community and within the department. The program, highlighting rescue dogs trained to meet rigorous standards, plays a crucial role in mental health and wellness, exemplified during events like the Surfside building collapse.

We provide basic police services throughout the unincorporated area of Miami-Dade County, Miami Lakes, Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay. Our decentralized police patrol in eight districts.

Our specialized patrol teams include the airport, seaport, marine, motorcycle, bomb disposal and SWAT. Our crime investigators work with other law enforcement agencies, from local cities to the Department of Homeland Security.
