What to do if you receive a Notice of Violation

If you've received a notice of violation, you must do both of the following to resolve your case:

  • Pay the civil penalty listed on the notice of violation
  • Correct the issue within the time specified on the notice of violation (if applicable)

  • File an appeal in person:

  • Make a payment in person:

  • Pay online.

If you believe the notice of violation was issued in error, you may request an administrative hearing to appeal the code inspector's decision. Request an administrative hearing.

Animal Services Notice of Violation

If your notice of violation is related to Animal Services, it is handled exclusively by Animal Services.

For any questions or to resolve the matter, call 311 to be directed to the appropriate Animal Services representative.

Collections

If your notice of violation has been transferred to Credit and Collection, it is in the delinquency stage and no longer handled by the issuing agency. Please contact the Credit and Collection Division directly for assistance.
