Park Description
The Preston B. Bird/Mary Heinlein Fruit & Spice Park is the only tropical botanical garden of its kind in the United States. The tropical climate of the 37-acre facility can be found nowhere else in the continental U.S. and hosts over 500 varieties of fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs, and nuts, and other commercially important plant specimens from around the world. The Park showcases 150 varieties of mango, 75 varieties of bananas, 70 bamboo varieties, and numerous other exotic edibles. Visitors are invited to sample fruits at our tasting counter inside our Park Store or enjoy lunch at the Mango Cafe.
Tours:
Guided tours are conducted everyday at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Special tours can be arranged at convenient times for schools, clubs, and any special interest groups, from preschoolers to golden years groups.
Park admission:
$10 per adult, $3 per child 6-11, and children under 5 are free.
Open 7 days a week. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. except Thanksgiving and Christmas.
