How do I report an aggressive or dangerous dog?

If you or someone else was bitten by a dog, seek immediate medical attention. Call 911 if your injury is severe.

If you, someone else or your pet was bitten or attacked by a dog but are no longer in immediate danger of further injury:

  1. Call us by dialing 311 or 305-468-5900. Individuals with a hearing or speech disability can contact us by calling Florida Relay at 711. Call Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Closed Sundays and holidays.
  2. You must provide the exact address where the aggressive or dangerous dog resides. This information is required to open an investigation. You will also need to provide a description of the dog and the address of the injured person or domestic animal. For a dog to be declared dangerous by Animal Services, it must have attacked a person or another domestic animal.
  3. Animal Services will initiate a dangerous dog investigation, dispatch an Animal Control Officer to the dog owner’s address, and request the dog be quarantined for 10 days in the owner’s home.
  4. The outcome of the investigation will be provided after the 10 days.
