Mayor Daniella Levine Cava’s First 100 Days

It’s hard to believe that 100 days have already passed since I had the honor of being sworn in as the new Mayor of Miami-Dade County. In the first 100 days, my administration hit the ground running to build a more inclusive, resilient, and stronger Miami-Dade.

A STRONG Miami-Dade meets the challenges of today while making investments for tomorrow by taking action to:
  • save Biscayne Bay and build a more resilient environment to protect our waterways and drinking water
  • restore and reinvigorate a thriving economy that delivers economic security for Miami-Dade businesses and families and attracts new industries
  • make our county safer and more equitable through justice reforms
  • build a countywide operation to distribute vaccines efficiently and equitably and protect all communities against COVID
  • invest in neighborhoods and infrastructure to create better-connected, more livable communities and take on our affordability crisis
  • engage with residents and invite direct input into decision-making to make local government more responsive, transparent, and accountable

Read below for a status report on what we've already accomplished together to build a STRONG Miami-Dade in just the first 100 days – and join me for a 100 Days virtual town hall on Facebook or Twitter Monday, March 8 at 6 pm. Submit your questions in advance here or with the hashtag #DLC100Days.

Mayor Daniella Levine Cava

Daniella Levine Cava was elected Miami-Dade County’s first-ever woman Mayor in November 2020. She enters the Mayor's office following a nearly 40-year career as a relentless advocate for South Florida families in public service and elected leadership.

As Miami-Dade County’s Mayor, she oversees a metropolitan government with nearly 30,000 employees serving nearly 3 million residents, managing an annual budget of approximately $10 billion.

A social worker, lawyer, and community activist, she was first elected in 2014, and re-elected in August 2018, to serve as the Miami-Dade County Commissioner representing District 8.
