Limousine Service License
Important Message: Miami-Dade County is issuing temporary for-hire licenses valid from Nov. 21 through Dec. 11, 2022 to Limousine and Passenger Motor Carrier Operators currently licensed by a state or political subdivision of a state to engage in the limousine business and existing Miami-Dade license holders wishing to increase their fleets for this event.
Read the application carefully and submit completed applications within the dates specified.
Completed applications may be submitted to the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW), Passenger Transportation Regulatory Division, 601 NW 1st Court 18th Floor, Miami, Florida, 33136. Applications will be accepted Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Walk-in applications are accepted, and same-day decal issuance is available for applications that meet all requirements.
Miami-Dade County regulates for-hire limousines on a countywide basis under Chapter 31, Article VI of the County Code. Limousines are not equipped with meters and are dispatched from one central business location. Service must be pre-arranged which means; a written, electronic or telephone reservation made in advance by the person requesting service for the provision of limousine service.
Any person or business wishing to provide for-hire limousine transportation in Miami-Dade County must first obtain proper licenses for each limousine to be operated. Miami-Dade County offers various limousine license categories often used by the limousine industry which include luxury sedans, SUV’s, stretch, limo vans, ancient, antique, and collectible vehicles.
All vehicles placed into service must be inspected and operators must first obtain a chauffeur’s license prior to operating a for-hire hire limousine.
