Services

• Miami-Dade County offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 19
• Transportation and Public Works (Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover) will operate on a regular weekday schedule
• Miami‑Dade Libraries will be closed Monday, Jan. 19
• Miami-Dade County Solid Waste will not collect garbage or bulk trash on Monday, Jan. 19; service will resume on your following scheduled pickup day. Curbside recycling collection service will take place as scheduled

Events

• 49th Annual MLK Parade and Festivities - Monday, Jan. 19
  The Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade in Liberty City is a time-honored event that brings together the community to celebrate Dr. King's contributions to civil rights and social justice. Scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, with the planned 2.5 hr. Liberty City route running from NW 54th St. and 7th Ave. to 32nd Ave., the parade follows 10 miles of sacred ground that Dr. King once traveled during his frequent engagements in Miami.

  Two locations to chose from! Sign up to volunteer at Oak Grove Park, or Joe and Enid W. Demps Park 
• City of Miami Gardens MLK Day of Service - Saturday, Jan. 17
  The event will be held at Omega Activity Center, 15600 NW 42nd Ave., Opa-locka from 8 a.m. - noon.
• Environmentally Endangered Lands (EEL) Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service/Environmental Project and Tour - Monday, Jan. 19
  Participate in EEL's Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's Day of Service from 3 to 6 p.m. at Florida City Pineland Reserve, Palm Drive & SW 8th Ave., Florida City, FL 33034
