Miami-Dade County offices are closed Monday, Oct. 13 for Columbus Day

Miami-Dade County offices, libraries and the Pet Adoption and Protection Center will be closed on Monday, Oct. 13, in observance of Columbus Day. The federal holiday recognizes the spirit of exploration and embraces new horizons.

Miami-Dade County also recognizes the second Monday of October as Indigenous People’s Day to honor the significant social, political and economic contributions to our community made by the Miccosukee people and other residents of Indigenous descent.

County Services and Facilities:

• Solid Waste Management will be running regular garbage and recycling pick-up services
• Transit will provide regular weekday service on Metrorail, Metromover and Metrobus
• Golf Miami-Dade courses will be open on Monday. Read about the safety guidelines before you visit
• Miami-Dade Public Library System will be closed Monday, Oct. 13
