Moving forward together from COVID-19

Due to the expiration of the COVID-19 federal public health emergency declaration on May 11, 2023, Miami-Dade County is demobilizing its remaining COVID-19 testing and vaccination programs.

Through the dedicated efforts of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Miami-Dade Police Department, emergency management personnel and health care workers, Miami-Dade County built and scaled a community-wide vaccination campaign, resulting in more than two million people getting vaccinated. Miami-Dade achieved one of the highest vaccination rates in the state and the nation.

Vaccines

Vaccines are available at pharmacies, health centers, public and private health care providers, and the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County.

Testing

Testing is widely available via self-administered home tests and at traditional health care sites. Home test kits are available through federal distribution, private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, and retail purchase.

Therapeutics and Treatment

Therapeutics and Treatments are available in health care settings by prescription. The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade supports equitable access to therapeutics.
