Modified Metrorail service schedules in effect due to Dadeland South improvements

To support long-term upgrades that will improve reliability and the overall rider experience, single-track operations at Dadeland South will remain in place through early April 2026. These changes will affect train frequency, travel times, and passenger volumes across the system. DTPW is committed to providing safe, reliable service connecting riders throughout Miami-Dade County, and we appreciate your patience as these important improvements move forward.
What Riders Need to Know
- Modified Metrorail Frequency (weekday service)
- Orange Line service is operating on a modified schedule.
- During weekday peak morning and evening periods, Green and Orange Line trains will run approximately every 10–12 minutes (vs. the typical 5–7 minutes)
- During non-peak hours, weekday service frequency may range from every 15–30 minutes
- Riders should allow extra travel time and plan their trips accordingly
- Higher passenger volumes may occur at select Metrorail platforms and on trains due to adjusted service intervals
- Orange Line Service to/from Miami International Airport (MIA) is operating on a modified schedule through early April, approximately
- Weekday peak morning (6 A.M. – 9 A.M.) and peak evening (4 P.M. – 8, Orange Line trains will run approximately every 10–12 minutes (vs. the typical 5–7 minutes)
- Frequency during weekday non-peak hours (9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.), weekday service frequency may range from every 15–30 minutes
- After 8 p.m., standard evening service (I.e., single track service) remains in effect. This requires passengers traveling to/from MIA to transfer from the Airport Shuttle Train to the main Metrorail Green Line at Earlington Heights Station
- Accessibility & Rider Assistance
Passengers who require assistance while traveling during peak periods should connect with Metrorail station security upon arrival as they are available to help riders with special needs safely access trains that may be operating at higher capacity.
Riders who qualify for Special Transportation Service (STS) and need additional assistance are encouraged to consider using STS during the next several weeks while modified rail service is in place. For more information please contact (insert ADA Coordinator email and phone here).
DTPW respects our riders’ time and understands that dependable service is critical. These temporary adjustments are necessary to complete infrastructure improvements that will strengthen system performance and enhance the long-term reliability of Metrorail. We appreciate your patience as we build a better system for everyone.
