Dadeland South Intermodal Station to temporarily operate single-track Metrorail service to improve rider experience
As part of ongoing enhancements to the Dadeland South Intermodal Station, upcoming construction on the Metrorail platform will require temporary single-track service beginning on Monday, February 23, 2026.
Platform closures will be phased, impacting one side at a time for approximately three (3) weeks per side. Train service will continue; however, riders will experience delays during this period and should plan accordingly. Riders connecting to Metrorail from Metrobus and Metro Express should also factor potential delays into their travel planning.
During this project, Metrorail will only provide Green Line service between Palmetto and Dadeland South stations. The Orange Line will only provide Airport Shuttle train service between Earlington Heights and Miami International Airport Metrorail stations. Passengers traveling to the airport will need to transfer at Earlington Heights Station to board the Airport Shuttle train.
This phase of the work, including the associated single tracking, is expected to last approximately six (6) weeks. Crews will work throughout the week to minimize impact on service. Please note that weather conditions and other unforeseen variables may affect the construction schedule and duration of this work.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to enhance the station and riders’ overall Metrorail experience.
For more information on the single tracking, please contact Sandra Antonio at 305-467-7911 or [email protected]. To learn more about the Dadeland South Intermodal Station Project overall, click here.
