Waste Collection Services

Pickup frequency & schedule
  • Automated pickup of green waste carts is done twice weekly.
  • Look up your waste pickup days, input your address into the Geographic Information System (GIS) tool
  • On your pickup day place green carts out by 7 a.m., within 3 ft. of the street, at least 5 ft. from obstacles such as mailboxes, cars and trees.
Holiday exceptions
Waste collection happens, rain or shine, on all County‑observed holidays except the following:
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • Independence Day
  • Christmas Day

Services resume on the next regularly scheduled day.

Manual waste collection, where garbage is not collected using automated trucks, is provided to a limited number of households in Miami-Dade's waste collection service areas.
A limited number of customers receive twice weekly community container garbage collection (dumpster) service. Oversized trash such as furniture and household appliances should not be placed in the dumpsters or left next to them. Instead, you should take them to one of the 13 Neighborhood Trash and Recycling Centers.
