The Community Education Unit (CEU) offers specialty services listed below upon request:

• Bike Rodeos
• Christmas Caroling Puppet Show - During the holiday season the CEU conducts Christmas puppet shows that caters to Senior Citizen Centers but not limited to various community establishments like: Homeless Shelters, Park Recreation and Open Spaces, Children Hospitals, Churches, and Schools.
• Community Information Table with Educational Items
• McGruff Cruiser
• McGruff the Crime Dog
• Pedestrian/Stranger Puppet Show
• Red Ribbon Presentations - In honor of the Red Ribbon Campaign observance, the CEU conducts Red Ribbon substance abuse presentations. The CEU visits Miami-Dade County Public Schools and reaches approximately 3,000 students each year. The Red Ribbon Campaign consists of drug awareness presentations and juvenile detention awareness.
• MDPD Car Seat Program - The CEU is currently operating as the largest Child Passenger Safety (CPS) fitting station in MDC, with six certified CPS technicians. Every Wednesday morning the CEU operates a fitting station at MDPD, where parents and legal guardians can come and have their child safety seats inspected, corrected, or installed. This program also distributes free car seats to low income and less fortunate families. Also, upon request, CEU conducts CPS presentations and car seat checks and installations at various businesses, organizations, childcare centers, head start programs, and schools throughout MDC.
