The new BRT stations are iconic The BRT stations will offer an array of amenities to improve your experience, including real-time bus arrival displays, improved lighting, enhanced security features, access to air-conditioned waiting area, free Wi-Fi, water fountains, and pre-boarding fare collection.
Bike and ride on Metro Express Bike storage is conveniently available on the bus. Cyclists also have the option of securing and leaving their bikes at each station.
Station upgrades for everyone Major improvements and refurbished canopies at the existing 32 local bus stops along the TransitWay, including new seating, lighting and security features, are being completed, improving and modernizing the entire length of the corridor.
Metro Express service scheduleThe final BRT schedule will be established prior to the opening. Currently, service frequency is expected to be 7.5 minutes during peak hours in peak directions, 15 minutes off peak, and 30 minutes on weekends.
A reimagined shared-use path Repaired and widened trails throughout the corridor support access for people walking and biking between stations. Please note cyclists, e-bikes, and other mobility users are NOT allowed on the bus lanes of the TransitWay and are subject to fines. This is also extremely dangerous.
Connections made easy TransitWay Local service will also stop at all 14 new TransitWay stations, in addition to the local stops, giving you more ways to transfer and keep moving.
Protected gate arm crossings at all intersectionsNew, rail-like gate arms are being activated at various roadway intersections along the South Dade TransitWay to enhance safety for drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, and transit riders, and to expedite your ride and get you where you need to go faster.
