Biscayne Bay Task Force

The Biscayne Bay Task Force is made up of nine members who will review relevant data, prior studies and reports related to Biscayne Bay and determine how various issues may affect residents and property owners.

Environmental Quality Control Board

The Environmental Quality Control Board hears petitions ranging from requests for variances from Chapter 24 of the Code of Miami-Dade County to appeals of the Director of the Division of Environmental Resources Management, and appeals of decisions of the Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue Department or other fire departments having jurisdiction.

Land Acquisition Selection Committee

The Land Acquisition Selection Committee was established as part of the Environmentally Endangered Lands Program to assist the County in implementing the voters’ mandate. The committee's purpose is to recommend to the Board of County Commissioners a list of environmentally sensitive lands for acquisition twice each year.

Sea Level Rise Task Force

The Sea Level Rise Task Force was charged with:

  • Reviewing relevant data and prior studies and reports regarding the potential impact of sea level rise on public services and facilities, real estate, water and other ecological resources, and property and infrastructure; and
  • Providing a comprehensive and realistic assessment of the likely and potential impacts of sea level rise and storm surge over time.

Climate Change Advisory Task Force

The Climate Change Advisory Task Force has completed its task of identifying potential future climate change impacts to Miami-Dade County, and has submitted various recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners.
The task force has sunset.

Manatee Protection Plan Review Committee

The Manatee Protection Plan Review Committee held its last meeting on Oct. 9, 2009. The following month, the committee submitted its recommendations to the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners, as well as data and analysis reports to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in order to elicit initial comments on revisions to the Manatee Protection Plan as required by State law.
The committee has sunset.

Wetlands Advisory Task Force

Wetlands are a major element of the historical and current South Florida landscape, providing vital functions which are essential to the health and welfare of the people of Miami-Dade County. The Wetlands Advisory Task Force held its final meeting on July 2012 and submitted final recommendations covering four stated purposes.
The task force has sunset.
