Commissioner Keon Hardemon Cleans up District 3 - Eliminating Eyesores and Improving Neighborhood Blight

Commissioner Keon Hardemon launches ‘Community Clean Up’ which aims to eliminate eyesores of illegal dumping, abandoned properties, overgrown landscaping and illicit activity in neighborhoods of Brownsville, Liberty City, Allapattah, Overtown and all other areas affected within District 3. Partnered with Miami-Dade County Solid Waste, ‘Community Clean Up’ gives attention to neglected neighborhoods that are hotbeds for crime and violence and adversely affect homeowners and businesses in the area. The Office of Commissioner Hardemon prioritizes removing blight to improve the overall well-being of all residents.

Did you know illegal dumping is a crime?

Illegal dumping is the unlawful disposal of trash, furniture, auto-parts and hazardous materials on public and private property.

The Department of Solid Waste Management works with the Miami-Dade Police Department to investigate Illegal dumping crimes. Offenders are subject to fines up to $1,000, vehicle seizure and/or arrest.
