About the Web Portal

Miami-Dade County is a brand that audiences have grown to trust as the official source of information relied on by millions of residents and visitors. Miami-Dade County's web presence, miamidade.gov is one of the primary ways government information is presented and communicated within the digital domain. It is a powerful, dynamic tool for engaging with both internal and external audiences.

The County's most recent web portal launched Jan. 15, 2019. With the new miamidade.gov, the challenge was met to strike a balance between the creativity and energy of internal customers with maintaining a web presence that reinforces the County’s identity, while ensuring that its digital service delivery channels, including miamidade.gov, provide equal access to all users, regardless of ability.

Hundreds of pages were restructured and content rewritten to be more concise and easier to read. Using plain language has enhanced accessibility and optimized content to be machine-readable by virtual assistants and other devices. The most popular services and essential government information are at the forefront with refreshed, service-driven content, a mobile-friendly design and helpful search features.

The County's content management system allows for the consistent use of the County’s brand across all organizations while providing flexibility to leverage the collective value of the organization as a whole.
