Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works announces temporary closure of Financial District Metromover Station for system upgrades
Miami-Dade County's Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) announces the temporary closure of the Financial District Metromover Station beginning Saturday, October 24, 2026, to allow for switch upgrades as part of the ongoing Metromover Upgrade Project.
During the approximately five-week closure, Brickell Loop service will operate with a modified route, with trains beginning and ending their trips at Brickell Metromover Station. Financial District Station will not be served during the closure. Riders are encouraged to plan ahead and allow additional travel time. The closure schedule is subject to change.
The improvements are part of the ongoing Metromover Upgrade Project, a broader effort to modernize the Metromover system, improve service reliability and operational flexibility, reduce wait times, and extend the system's useful life, providing a safer and more dependable transit experience for the community.
DTPW will post closure notices and signage throughout the Metromover system, and provide service updates through County websites, social media, email notifications and in-person rider outreach. Riders can also receive updates through the GO Miami-Dade Transit app or by signing up for Transit Alerts.
For additional information about the ongoing improvements, visit miamidade.gov/moverupgrade or metromoverupgrade.com.
