While safety precautions are put in place and enforced by Miami-Dade Transit, it’s imperative for all passengers to abide by the rules as we all work together to keep each other safe and secure. - Report a crime, misconduct, or suspicious activity to any Transit security personnel on site, on the GO Miami-Dade Transit app, by calling 305-375-2700, or dial 3-1-1.
- Bicycles and personally owned e-bikes may be carried/walked onto DTPW property and DTPW vehicles including Metrorail. Read the guidelines.
Paying your fare
- Have your EASY Card or EASY Ticket ready before reaching the fare gate. Contactless Payment and the GO Miami-Dade Transit app are also available as forms of payment.

- Customer service specialists are available Monday - Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and closed on weekends and County-observed holidays.
Be kind and courteous
- Allow passengers in wheelchairs or using mobility devices and walking aids to board and exit first
- Be considerate with other passengers, especially the elderly
- Keep the door areas clear for passengers to enter and exit
- Place luggage and bicycles in the designated areas inside the rail cars
- Hold children’s hands and always keep them under close supervision
- Secure all wheeled devices including strollers, push carts and wheelchairs while on the platform to prevent them from rolling off the platform onto the tracks
- Watch your step when boarding or exiting trains
- When standing, always hold on to an overhead hand strap or seat grab-rail to secure yourself from train movements, normal braking, and possible sudden stops
- Listen to train announcements and watch for your station
- Take all personal belongings with you when exiting the train
- Jump down onto the tracks or enter the tracks from the platform for any reason. This could lead to arrest, serious injuries or death
- Attempt to walk through the train end doors from one car to another. This could lead to serious injuries or death
- Enter the system without being properly clothed and wearing shoes
- Stand on the platform too close to the edge: stay off the yellow tactile until the doors open
- Solicit while on Miami-Dade Transit’s property
- Ride bicycles, skateboards, or use roller skates or roller blades inside the station or on the train
- Smoke, eat, drink, leave food or trash inside the train
- Throw anything onto the track
- Hold the train doors open at any time
- Block the aisles with baby carriages, carts, or packages
- Allow children to play / walk freely anywhere in the station or on the train
- Disrupt, harass, or threaten other passengers or employees
- Use audio devices without earphones
- Interfere with any train equipment
- Cut, mark, paint (graffiti) any equipment or property.

- Move to the rear of the bus when carrying large packages, shopping carts, suitcases or strollers
- Allow elderly and persons with disabilities to use designated seats and spaces.
Smart tips- Watch your step when entering and exiting the bus
- Remove infants from strollers and keep baby carriages closed and out of the aisle
- Secure yourself when standing - hold on to the grab rails or seat racks in case of sudden stops. The Bus Operator may be required to brake suddenly
- Signal to stop at least one block in advance
- Take all personal belongings with you when exiting the bus
- Allow the ramp to be deployed before exiting the front door
- Secure all wheeled devices including strollers, push carts and wheelchairs while on the Metrobus to prevent them from rolling
- Stand behind the designated line on the floor

- Pay reduced fare for preschoolers taller than 42 inches without a preschool permit

- Disrupt, distract, harass, or threaten the bus operator, Miami-Dade Transit employees or other passengers
- Speak with the bus operator when the bus is in motion
- Smoke, eat, drink or leave food inside the bus
- Litter or create an unsanitary condition inside the bus or Metrobus property
- Lie down or place your feet on the seats
- Solicit inside the bus
- Use audio devices without earphones or with earphones at excessive volumes
- Place objects or packages on wheel wells
- Stand in front of the safety line when the bus is in motion
- Sit in the front seats unless you are elderly, a person with disabilities or asked by the bus operator to move
- Stand until the bus comes to a complete stop
- Board the bus without being fully clothed and wearing shoes
