Honoring Veterans
The Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution sponsored by Commissioner Joe A. Martinez directing the mayor to incorporate into the Department of Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces’ proposed fiscal year 2022-2023 fee schedule a fee waiver allowing qualified disabled veterans to launch boats at County owned and operated marinas without charge.

Healthcare services offered to residents at Commisioner Martine'z annual Health & Safety Expo
The annual Health & Safety Expo, hosted by Commissioner Joe A. Martinez, was well-attended by Miami-Dade County residents on Saturday, Aug. 6. The event drew more than 1,500 attendees who received free medical screenings and consultations offered by healthcare professionals.

Commissioner Martinez co-sponsors resolution to donate surplus police equipment to Ukraine
There are 5,000 vests of body armor (28 crates of regular vests and 2 pallets of tactical green vests) of police equipment which are obsolete and cannot be used by another County department, municipality in Miami-Dade County, or an eligible community-based organization.
