Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving

This year, Thanksgiving takes place on Thursday, Nov. 28. Before celebrating Turkey Day with your loved ones, learn which County services will be affected, find events to celebrate the holiday and read some tips to ensure your Thanksgiving is celebrated safely.

Services

• Miami-Dade County offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29
• Transportation and Public Works will operate on a Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, and regular weekday schedule on Friday, Nov. 29.  MetroLink will not provide service during County observed holidays
• Solid Waste Management will operate on a normal schedule and all disposal facilities will observe normal operating hours
• Miami-Dade Public Libraries will be closed from Thursday, Nov. 28 through Saturday, Nov. 30

Events

• Keep kids engaged during the holiday break with Miami-Dade Parks fall camps
  Fall camps are being offered across Miami-Dade County from Nov. 25 through Nov. 27 and include activities, such as sports, arts and crafts, nature encounters, nutrition education and more.
• 2024 Baptist Health Turkey Trot Miami 5K/10K & Kids Race
  Before digging into your Thanksgiving feast, join fellow runners, joggers and walkers at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28, at Tropical Park. Learn more about the event and sign up today as space is limited. 
• Fireside Lights
  Explore Fruit & Spice Park and get ready for a festive fireside evening like no other! The garden transforms into a holiday wonderland, bursting with Christmas cheer.
• Historic Holidays: Caroling through the Season
  The Deering Estate invites you to step back in time and experience the magic of the season with “Historic Holidays: Caroling through the Season,” from Nov. 29 through Jan. 7, 2025.
